IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MEDICAL EMERGENCIES:

If you have a medical emergency while traveling, your first priority is to seek immediate local medical care. Don’t wait! After getting help, you can contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate for additional support. They can help you find reputable providers, get in touch with your family, and guide you through what to do next. Get the U.S. Embassy contact information here:  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/contact-us/Emergencies-Abroad.html

They won’t be able to pay your medical bills, so it’s important to have travel insurance with international medical coverage before your trip, just in case life throws you a curveball.

You can read more about what services the US Embassy can help with in our blog post here: https://justgosolo.com/us-embassy-help/

Get 911 numbers (police, an ambulance, fire department) abroad here: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/students-abroad/pdfs/911_ABROAD.pdf
