First 48 Hours Checklist

Portland Staycation Guide | Top 10 Things To Do Locally

First 48 Hours of Solo Travel. Stay Grounded, Not Anxious.

For women on their first solo trip, here’s a calming list of things to do (and not do) to ease into your adventure with confidence and care.

✅ Get at least 7–8 hours of sleep (or a good nap!)

✅ Eat a nourishing meal and hydrate

✅ Go for a slow walk in daylight. Bonus if it’s near water or nature!

✅ Journal, read, or listen to a comforting podcast

✅ Book a tour or photoshoot to ease into socializing

✅ Connect with a local guide who speaks your language

✅ Post in a solo female travel group for inspiration and encouragement

✅ Don’t feel guilty for doing “nothing”. You’re adjusting.

✅ Bookmark a virtual therapy app in case you need a talk

✅ Remind yourself: This is part of the process. It gets easier.

Solo Reminder:
Every confident solo traveler once had a Day One. You’re not behind, you’re just getting started.

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
